Instructor's Resource Manual
This comprehensive teacher resource provides teaching strategies for managing a global history course and for getting the most out of the textbook. It offers an array of supporting material for each chapter of the text, including learning objectives, a detailed chapter outline, lecture topics with suggestions for additional reading, discussion questions, essay topics, and lists of multimedia resources.
Advanced Placement* Teacher's Manual
This new resource extends the regular Instructor's Resource Manual (described above) with information that is specifically tailored to high school Advanced Placement students. The manual will help teachers to focus their instruction in order to most effectively prepare students for the AP examination.
Test Bank
A printed test booklet offering more than 2,000 multiple-choice, free response, and true/false exam questions referenced to each chapter of the textbook. Also provides reinforcement of key terms from each chapter and geography questions that strengthen map skills.
Study Guide
The Study Guide comes in two volumes which correspond to Chapters 1-15 and Chapters 15-33, respectively, in the student textbook. It includes learning objectives, a glossary, and practice test questions in various formats (true/false, multiple-choice, sequence, identification, matching, and map exercises) for each chapter. Also included are comparison charts to help students make connections among different time periods, locations, and cultures. The Guide helps students sharpen the critical-thinking and analysis skills that will be needed for success in the AP course, on AP examination, and in future studies.
Textbook Companion Web Site
The Web site offers a variety of resources for students to reinforce and extend the textbook lessons, including ACE self-assessment quizzes, outlines, vocabulary exercises, and skill-building activities tied to maps and other illustrations from the text. There is a separate section for teachers, which provides the contents of the Instructor's Resource Manual, the testing program, and other teaching tools.
HM Testing with Instructor's History Companion CD
This teaching tool provides course planning, lecture, and testing resources. The test component provides the same questions found in the printed Test Bank, but also allows teachers flexibility to add their own questions and to create virtually limitless variations. The CD also includes PowerPoint slides that instructors can tailor to their needs, and HM ImageBank, a selection of images from the text with teaching notes. These may be used to enhance classroom presentations and/or to stimulate discussion.
Transparencies
A set of full-color transparency acetates representing all of the maps in the student textbook.
