Psychology, 7th Edition
Ancillary Descriptions
Annotated Instructor's Edition
New with Teaching Tips icons signaling new information on the Instructor Web Site, this edition helps instructors to coordinate the many print, software, and video supplements available with the text by showing which materials apply to the content on every page of the student text. These materials include learning objectives, test questions, discussion and lecture ideas, handouts, active-learning and critical-thinking activities from the Study Guide, videodisc segments and stills, lecture starter videos, overhead transparencies and PowerPointŪ images, as well as three psychology readers.
Study Guide
Each chapter contains a detailed outline, a key-terms section that presents fresh examples and learning aids, plus a fill-in-the-blank test, learning objectives, a concepts and exercises section that shows students how to apply their knowledge of psychology to everyday issues and concerns, a critical-thinking exercise, and personal learning activities. In addition, each chapter concludes with a two-part self-quiz consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions. An answer key tells the student not only which response is correct but also why each of the other choices is wrong, and quiz analysis tables enable students to track patterns to their wrong answers, either by topic or by type of question-definition, comprehension, or application.
HM ClassPrep CD-ROM with HM Testing
Consisting of the computerized test bank and the HM ClassPrep components this CD-ROM has a new, easy-to-use interface; complete cross-platform flexibility; and other new features to make the product flexible. The HM ClassPrep instructor CD-ROM provides, in one convenient resource, all the materials that instructors might want to have available electronically, including PowerPoint lecture outlines, art from the textbook, and many materials from the complete Instructor's Resource Manual.
HM Testing contains more than 3,000 multiple-choice items plus three essay questions for each chapter of the text. All multiple-choice items are keyed to pages in the textbook and to the learning objectives listed in the Instructor's Resource Manual and Study Guide. In addition, questions that ask students to apply their knowledge of the concepts are distinguished from those that require factual recall.
PsychStart CD-ROM
This student CD-ROM contains the study guide content, as well as, The Big Picture (chapter summary); Chapter Walkthrough (students answer different types of questions to build their own detailed chapter summary); What's That? (a labeling exercises); Critical Thinking Questions; Practice Tests; and a glossary with pronunciation.
Lecture Starter DVDs
Available in either VHS or DVD formats, this program contains a series of high-interest, concise segments that instructors can use to begin a class meeting or change to a new topic. The accompanying guide briefly describes each segment, indicates concepts that can be addressed using each segment, and offers suggestions on how to use each segment.
Psych in Film
Available in DVD and VHS, this program contains 35 clips from Universal Studios films illustrating key concepts in psychology. Clips from films like Schindler's List, Meet the Parents, Snow Falling on Cedars, and many others are combined with commentary and discussion questions to help bring psychology alive for students and demonstrate its relevance to contemporary life and culture.
Textbook Companion Web Sites
Available to both students and instructors. Most of the material from the HM ClassPrep CD-ROM is also available on the Web, including the Instructor's Resource Manual with Media Integration Guide, downloadable PDFs of the overhead transparencies, and PowerPoint lecture slides with comprehensive lecture outlines, art, and tables from the text.
