Instructor's Resource Manual
This teacher's manual contains a variety of resources to aid the instructor in preparing and presenting the text material in a manner that meets his/her personal preference and course needs. The IRM begins with a comprehensive preface, which covers preparation, pitfalls, planning, execution, resources, and best practices for both the novice and seasoned instructor. In addition, the preface offers instructors different approaches and strategies for using the text. Within the IRM, for each chapter, instructors are given chapter previews, a detailed outline, lecture suggestions, topics for discussion, classroom and individual activities with handouts, and research paper ideas. In addition, both the CD-ROM resources and web materials are presented and tied into the individual chapter topics for easier class preparation and use.

Test Bank
This Test Bank contains 2,400 questions, specifically developed for this textbook, and offers a variety of formats including, multiple-choice questions and essay questions with answers. The test bank is written at both the chapter and module level to provide flexibility to the instructor. The test questions are labeled by type (factual, conceptual, applied), objective, module reference number, and page reference, for easier use in creating exams.

Study Guide
This guide focuses on providing students with resources aimed at improving study skills and comprehension of the text material. For each chapter, the study guide contains a detailed chapter outline, objectives, module summaries, a guided review of terms and concepts, self-testing, exercises and activities highlighting key concepts from the main text. In addition, students will be provided an integrated set of media resources to further improve and expand their understanding of the main concepts of the course.

HM ClassPrep with HM Testing CD-ROM
This combined CD includes both the computerized test bank, which is the updated version 6.1, and the HMClassPrep CD. The computerized test bank is also available and contains all of the questions from the printed test bank. Instructors can edit questions or add their own questions to generate printed or online exams. The HMClassPrep CD-ROM contains electronic versions of instructor's resources so that they can be easily customized and inserted into teaching materials. Class Prep includes the Concept Charts, but does not include figures. The CD-ROM also contains PowerPoint slides, learning objectives, chapter outlines, active learning and critical thinking materials, handouts, an overview of media resources available with the text, and more.

Textbook Companion Website
This website contains a comprehensive gallery of online resources available to both instructors and students. For students, web icons placed in the chapter margins relate chapter topics to online resources. Identified by category and topic, these resources are easily accessible by logging on to the text's website. Web categories include quizzing, links, Netlabs, and research updates, each specifically related to the chapter content. For instructors, online resources include many of the resources found in the Instructors Resource manual and Instructors Resource CD-ROM.

Houghton Mifflin--Psych in Film DVD
Key concepts in psychology are illustrated in various clips from Universal Studios films on this DVD. Clips from films like A Beautiful Mind, Schlindler's List, Snow Falling on Cedars, and many others are combined with commentary and discussion questions to help bring psychology alive for students and demonstrate its relevance to contemporary life and culture.

Lecture Starter Video and Guide
The Lecture Starter Video contains a series of high-interest, concise segments that instructors can use to begin a class meeting or change to a new topic. The accompanying guide briefly describes each segment, indicates concepts that can be addressed using each segment, and offers suggestions on how to use each segment.

Lecture Starter Video on CD-ROM
An additional, original set of video clips are available on CD-ROM.

Transparencies
Contains 100 four-color images, charts, and tables taken directly from the main text. The transparencies include the Concept Charts and a variety of figures.

PsychStart CD-ROM
This interactive study tool that provides a chapter walkthrough, hot-linked glossary terms with pronunciation guide, interactive activities, and quizzes to reinforce the most challenging concepts in each chapter of Psychology: Concepts & Applications.
