Frequently Asked Question

Getting Started
This is my first time to ClassZone. How do I get started? If you are a student, select your discipline, textbook, and grade or chapter. If you are an instructor, follow these steps to register:

1. On the main ClassZone page, select your discipline. On the next page select your textbook. Then select any of the links under the dropdown menu titled “Teacher Resources.” These links are password-protected and require you to register and provide your 13-digit Teacher Access Code, which is located in the front of your textbook.

2. Once the teacher access code has been accepted, you'll enter some information about yourself as well as create a personal user name and password. Remember the user name and password you choose—you'll need them to enter the password-protected areas. Helpful hint: Your user name and password are case-sensitive. Try to choose something that you can easily remember. We recommend that you avoid spaces in your user name.
Where can I find the Teacher Access Code in order to register for ClassZone’s teacher resources? The teacher access code should be inside the front cover of the Teachers' Edition textbook. If you cannot find it there or if you are an IT person setting up the program for the instructor and don't have the book, please contact your sales rep or Customer Service (1-800-323-5435) or contact Technical Support (1-800-727-3009).
Do I have to enter the teacher access code every time I use ClassZone? No, the teacher access code is used only once. After you've created your user name and password, you won't need to use the teacher access code again. You will need your user name and password each time you visit the password-protected parts of ClassZone.
I typed in the teacher access code from the textbook, but I still can't register. What's wrong? Be sure that you typed the teacher access code exactly as it appears in the book.
Is ClassZone free? Yes. If you purchased a McDougal Littell Teacher's Edition, then you may access these resources for free.
Can I preview ClassZone resources without registering? Yes, but in order to access all the content you will need to register with your 13-digit teacher access code.
Can I have the same username and password for different ClassZone sites? Yes. When entering a new teacher access code for a new textbook, you can use the same username and password you created from another textbook.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I access the quizzes or online workbooks on ClassZone? You may need to disable your pop-up blocker on your browser.
Why aren't the flipcards loading? You need to install the Shockwave plug-in for your browser. If you don't have this plug-in, you can download it for free from Macromedia's Web site, available in the Downloads section above.
